Artists included in September’s group exhibition at the Gordon Jewish Community Center are Lucy Arvin, Dorit Riley and myself.  I will have selected photographs from the book “From Heartache to Hope: Middle Tennessee Families Living with Autism” included in the exhibit.

The book, “From Heartache to Hope“, is an art documentary, coffee table-style book of stunning photography by local photographer Rebekah Pope and the moving prose of author Leisa A. Hammett.  It uses black & white photography and moving prose to tell the stories of 18 Middle Tennessee familes living with autism.  Between the pages of this hard-bound coffee table-style book are experiences documneted from rural outposts to urban settings and in between.  Family structures vary, as do racial and socio-economic make-up.  But pieced together–like the enigmatic autism puzzle–they tell the universal autism story.  Proceeds from this critically acclaimed book benefit ASMT, a Middle Tennessee autism support organization.

This little one came to visit me last week for her three months session.  Look at those dimples!  Isn’t she just so sweet.  She was all smiles and dimples during the session and she  made my job so easy and fun.  I got my baby fix in with this cutie.
