As a rule, I don’t photograph weddings, however, since cousin Carrie is such a dear cousin, I couldn’t say no when she asked me to photograph her wedding.  Carrie and Miguel were married this past Saturday in a quaint old church in Rives, TN.  I am still in the process of downloading the images, but wanted to share this one of the beautiful bride in her gown of red.  How lovely!!

I am so swamped with editing, working on the Heartache to Hope book and life in general.  I promised myself I wouldn’t take on any new sessions until I get caught up with everything.  However, I couldn’t so no when Mom called wanting me to photograph her newborn.  I’m so glad that I was able to work them in.  Big sister and brother are so proud of their newest family member.  They were such a joy to work with.

As I’m sure you are aware, I am currently working with author Leisa Hammett to document the stories of families’ with autism through the written word and photographs.  This is an exciting week for the project as we are working on the layout of the book and getting it ready for the publisher.  Mary Sweeney (of mSweeney design) has done an outstanding job on the graphics of the book.  I can’t help but get pumped up as I see the book start to take shape.  I am in such awe as everything seems to be following into place for this project.

I wanted to share a few images of the sibling groups.  As I’m sure you can understand, these siblings are directly impacted by their brother or sister’s autism.  They have really stepped up to the plate by becoming heavily involved with the care of their sibling.  While I was spending time with the family groups, I could see the love that these siblings have for each other.  I hope that I was able to honor this bond and loyalty in these photographs.
