Who doesn’t love a good sale?  This weekend’s semi-annual consignment sale at Forest Hills Baptist Church is no exception.  I’m always amazed at the great items available.   Also, all proceeds from the sale will be used to help fund the Youth Mission Trips during the summer of 2010.  FHBC is located at 2101 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN on the corner of Old Hickory Boulevard and Hillsboro Road. 

The sale dates are:

Friday, March 26th from 7:00am to 7:00pm 

Saturday, March 27th from 7:00am to 2:00pm.

The Parent Publications of America (PPA) had their annual conference last week and they handed out awards for 2009 issues.  The cover I photographed for the Nashville Parent Baby Guide Fall 2009, won bronze in the medium market (30,000 – 55,000 circulation) in the Ancillary Cover division.  This is my first cover image that I produced for Nashville Parent and the cover won an award!!  Yeah!  I also have to give kudos to Nashville Parent for the layout design of this issue.  I truly believe that it is a team effort to produce such award winning covers.  The comments from PPA regarding the cover was “The father-child close-up with the dramatic background attract our attention to the photo, and the words pop off the page.  The words and photo combine to make a strong package.”

 Also, congratulations to Nashville Parent for winning a total of 16 awards at PPA this year including GOLD for “What’s News,” “Overall Reporting” and more!!!  Nashville is so fortunate to have such a great parenting magazine.
